TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The University of Arizona was one of nine colleges asked by the White House to sign a "Compact for Academic Excellence in Higher Education."

The agreement commits the school to align with certain federal priorities from President Donald Trump in exchange for enhanced access to federal funding and events. Some of those federal priorities include women's sports, college affordability and free speech.

The other public and private colleges that received the 10-page proposed agreement on Wednesday include:

Vanderbilt

University of Pennsylvania

Dartmouth College

University of Southern California

Massachusetts Institute of Technology

University of Texas

Brown University

University of Virginia
