CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The government shutdown is raising concerns for families relying on government assistance, and in the Heartland, health officials are monitoring what it means for federally funded programs.
While resources are secure for now, programs like WIC, Head Start and SNAP face uncertainty come November.
WIC is open and operational, and expects to have resources through October.
Head Start will be funded through the end of this year.
SNAP benefits for October will be processed as normal, but funding could become an issue in November.
