A hiker is uninjured after being rescued from the HBC trail near Hope Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 30.
Hope Volunteer Search and Rescue (SAR) were on scene after the hiker was reported overdue. Twelve Hope SAR members — three by helicopter, six by UTV, and three by ground — prepared to search the area which included scouring Manson's Ridge and Peer's Creek Forest Service Road.
The hiker was found as the helicopter team flew over the trail, flown by Valley Helicopters Ltd. They spotted her as she was approaching Manson's Camp. They were able to "toe-in just before the camp and extracted the tired hiker."
"While we believe the hiker would have been able to hike out, arriving nine hours after her expected arrival time, she was exhausted and thankful for an early extraction," Hope SAR said via
