COLES COUNTY, Ill. (WCIA) -- Emergency response units were on the scene of a fire at the Coles County Sheriff's Office on Thursday.
At 5:03 p.m., the Sheriff's Office took to Facebook to report that a fire broke out in their mechanical room. Personnel with the Charleston Fire Department have put out the fire with an extinguisher and they're currently ventilating the smoke on scene.
They also clarified that this fire occurred in the administrative portion of the building, not the secure side where the inmates are housed.
