RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — There is a new era of the bluegrass in downtown Raleigh with the Raleigh Wide Open Music Festival is officially underway.
The event began at 6 p.m. on Thursday on Fayetteville Street. It will feature dozens of artists and bands across several stages, as well as food trucks and vendors.
Hopes are high for its first year as many business owners are expecting a major boost this weekend, with music, food, and artists flooding the streets.
In the heart of downtown Raleigh is Chido Taco, owned by Johana Castro. On average, her business feeds 200 customers, but she is hoping this weekend's inaugural Wide-Open Music Festival will smash that number. The restaurant is preparing by bringing in more staff and potentially extending hours.
