YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) -- It's no secret that workers and directors with Mahoning County's Board of Elections want out of its current office space on Oak Hill Renaissance Place.
Then, a pipe broke and dumped water in a store room where election machines are kept, earlier this week.
On Thursday, Chair of the Elections Board Dave Betras took his message to county commissioners again.
"I stood up here a year ago and said, God forbid, a pipe breaks above those machines, we're really going to be bad," Betras said.
Betras told commissioners the country was fortunate the break happened on a weekday when workers were on duty.
"We would have had a catastrophic failure and millions of dollars' worth of equipment would have been ruined," Betras said.
