SPARTANBURG, S.C. (WSPA) - Leaders and partners from the University of South Carolina Upstate officially opened The Learning Commons Thursday.
The Learning Commons (TLC) is an addition to the school's current library and will serve as a hub for student success, academic support, and collaboration.
The 26-thousand square foot building is the first new academic building to open on campus in over a decade. Students and leaders behind this building said they are excited for the new space, as it is a connection between the traditional library and the modernized way of learning.
"This is more than a library [because] the modern library has really changed. It has changed from being an archive of books and periodicals, to a place where people actually experience learning in very creative ways,"
