LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - On October 2, Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) held the 29th annual Conference Against Domestic Violence.

The events featured several experts discussing various topics, including the lasting trauma faced by victims of domestic violence.

“Unfortunately, I think that we still have a problem. What I see is that one of our strong points in Laredo is that you can see how many people are here today. There’s a collaboration between law enforcement, the DA’s office, the agencies, the communities in schools and headstarts, and we’re all coming together to say, ‘What do we have to do?’ So, to me, it’s a hopeful sign,” said Sister Rosemary Welsh with Casa De Misericordia.
