ST. CLOUD — A St. Cloud man who said that "God told him he needed to kill someone" was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday, Oct. 2, for the 2018 murder of a St. Cloud woman.
Daniel Walter Kenning, 45, was found guilty of murder on Tuesday, Sept. 25, by a Stearns County jury. Stearns County Judge Nathaniel Welte on Thursday sentenced Kenning to life in prison without the chance of release.
Kenning was charged with murder in the first and second degree in the strangling death of Jennifer Lee Moy, 45, of Blaine, on Sept. 29, 2018.
Kenning also must pay $7,500 to the Minnesota Crime Victims Reparations Board, and Welte ruled that all the earnings Kenning makes in prison must go to the board.
