OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) -- Owensboro is gearing up for this weekend's Illuminate event on the riverfront.

Event organizers describe it as an immersive oasis and it's all part of a three-day event called Illuminate.

“The whole idea is that you can visualize art whether that's light, whether that's video, whether that's color and uniquely different ways,” says Director of Public Events Tim Ross.

Illuminate is a multi-day event that organizers say will light up Downtown Owensboro. Ross anticipates LuminiMax to draw in some of the largest crowds.

He describes it as a sensory experience where anyone can go to escape the outside world.
