Police identified the person killed in a North Portland shooting this week as 16-year-old Alexander Montie-Lopez.
The teen, a sophomore at Roosevelt High School, died Sept. 30, capping a particularly bloody month in Portland when nine people died by homicide .
Police have released few details about the shooting, which happened around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 6800 block of North Central Street. The teenager had already died when police arrived, they said.
Police have made no arrests, although officers detained an unidentified person immediately after the shooting.
Police spokesperson Sgt. Kevin Allen said that person has since been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
