LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - Louisville football ball boy Zephian Wade has made an impact on a national stage after successfully recovering a football for the Cardinals during their game Saturday in Pittsburgh.

“He may hear some of our talks and watched our team play, and he wanted to win as much as any of us,” said Louisville Football Head Coach Jeff Brohm.

As a senior ball boy, Wade became a viral sensation after attempting to fend off a pair of Pitt Panthers.

“I didn’t expect this to go viral or anything,” said Wade. “I have been telling it to everybody around that I was just trying to do my job.”

Wade’s primary job as a ball boy is to protect and retrieve the football.

Each football is important to the program as they are made to fit the needs of Louisville quarterback, Miller Moss.
