BURBANK – A former Burbank Unified School District Board of Education member is scheduled to be arraigned later this month on a felony conflict-of-interest charge involving a $90,000 clerical contract awarded to a company police say was registered under her daughter’s name.

The Burbank Police Department was contacted on June 4 by personnel from the Burbank Unified School District regarding “concerns about a contract awarded in September 2024 to Specialized Support Services LLC, for up to $90,000 to resolve a two-year backlog of board meeting minutes,” according to a Burbank police statement.

Although the district paid $93,000 to Specialized Support Services from December 2024 to May 2025, “limited work had been completed,” according to police.
