BELMONT COUNTY, OH (WTRF) - It was a culinary competition like many others, with judging of the food based on taste, presentation and creativity.

But in this one, the competitors were IPs—incarcerated persons at Belmont Correctional Institution.

The In2Work 2025 Aramark Culinary Excellence cooking competition had two teams, each making a main dish, side dish and a dessert.

It was the first time that BeCI held the contest, and it had a pumpkin theme for a reason—because the IPs here consistently win awards every year in giant pumpkin growing contests.

In fact, this year their entry came in sixth at the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival.

One team's entries included turkey pot pie, oven fried broccoli, sweet potato casserole and an iced pumpkin cookie bar.
