The Aftershock music festival opened Thursday at Sacramento’s Discovery Park, launching its 13th year as the West Coast’s largest rock, punk, and metal event. Fans traveled from across the U.S. and overseas for a four-day lineup featuring the Deftones, Blink-182, Good Charlotte, and dozens more acts. Despite rain and muddy grounds early in the day, organizers said gates opened on time, and fans embraced the wet conditions with ponchos and rain gear. The festival continues through the weekend, drawing thousands of attendees of all ages.
