CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Tenn. — People are mourning the loss of a performing arts staple from Cumberland County.

The Cumberland County Playhouse announced the death of Carol Irvin. A post from the Playhouse said she dedicated more than 50 years of her life to the stage and was known for her soprano voice and compelling acting.

"Throughout her illustrious career, Carol was renowned for her soaring soprano voice, which captivated audiences and brought to life countless characters with emotional depth and technical brilliance," the post said. "Her performances often left spectators in awe, as she effortlessly combined vocal prowess with compelling acting, creating memorable moments that resonated long after the curtain fell."

No cause of death has been released for Irvin.
