LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Firefighters from 10 Kentucky departments spent the week training on towers and stadium walls in Louisville to practice high-angle rope rescues.
The Jefferson County Fire School, hosted by the Louisville Fire Department, brought together 20 firefighters for 40 hours of advanced, hands-on training, and they used UofL's L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium for practice.
Students from Fairdale, Jeffersontown, Nicholasville, Anchorage-Middletown, Mount Washington, Okolona, Shively, Louisville, Covington and Bardstown participated.
Eight instructors led the sessions, which began at the Louisville Fire Department Drill Tower and ended with advanced rescue scenarios at the stadium with support from University of Louisville Athletics.
