We lost two great leaders in our community last month, and I'd like to acknowledge them.
Sheriff John Aubrey was a highly respected public servant for over 55 years. He was a U.S. Army Colonel, later a Louisville police chief and culminated his long career being honored as the 2025 National Sheriff of the Year. We expect all our sheriffs to be as honest and trustworthy as Sheriff Abrey. Even though some have let us down terribly, with John, we never worried. He professionalized the office and served the people who elected him with honor.
The other loss is longtime Jefferson County Clerk Bobbie Holsclaw, who led the county's motor vehicle division, responsible for registering and titling all vehicles. If you've lived in other parts of the country, you've no doubt seen soulless, miserable
