A pedestrian hit by a WeGo bus in East Nashville Oct. 1 has died from her injuries, Metro Nashville Police Department said in a release Oct. 2

The bus was heading north at about 8:30 p.m. Oct. 1 when the driver swerved to try and avoid two pedestrians, who were crossing Dickerson Pike near Ewing Street, police said.

The front passenger side of the bus hit Patricia Owens, 64, who was critically injured and taken to Skyline Medical Center. Police said she died of her injuries Oct. 2.

The second pedestrian, Jeffrey Holley, 65, was hit by the bus's side mirror.

Holley sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The bus driver, who has not been identified, did not show signs of impairment.
