MACON COUNTY, N.C. (WSPA) -- A man was arrested during a traffic stop in Macon County after deputies found what appeared to be methamphetamine in his car.

According to the Macon County Sheriff's Office, Austen Jeffrey Caiata was pulled over on Wednesday.

While booking him into the Macon County Detention Center, deputies searched Caiata and found a secret compartment near the zipper of his pants. Inside the pocket was suspected fentanyl, officials said.

After locating the potential fentanyl in Caiata's pants, deputies searched his home Thursday morning.

Officials found 48 grams of suspected fentanyl and various pills, meth and drug paraphernalia.
