KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Two firefighters were injured as crews battled a fire at a West Knoxville business on Thursday, a Rural Metro Fire spokesperson said.

Crews responded to a fire at Coin Laundry in the 400 block of N. Cedar Bluff Road around 7:30 p.m., where heavy fire was observed on the front side of the business and spreading to the roof.

Two firefighters were injured. One was transported to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening, Rural Metro spokesperson Jeff Bagwell said.

Other businesses in the same structure suffered some smoke and water damage, but damage was contained to the laundromat. All occupants in the businesses safely evacuated prior before firefighters arrived.
