OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — On Thursday, which was Wrongful Conviction Day, groups gathered at the State Capitol to highlight the issue of wrongful incarceration, with many advocating for wrongly convicted individuals, including Richard Glossip, who was recently granted a new trial by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Since 1989, Oklahoma has had more than 40 exonerations, and half of those exonerees were black.

Citizens gathered on the south steps of the Capitol to highlight one of the biggest issues of our Criminal Justice System.

Many people came with t-shirts and flyers featuring their loved one, who they believe was wrongly incarcerated.
