The Hartford Fire Department responded to a fire at 59 Madison Avenue in the Parkville neighborhood Thursday afternoon.

The fire, which originated from the porches of the multi-family residence, extended into the second and third floors, as well as the cockloft.

Firefighters encountered heavy fire conditions, and a second alarm was requested to bring in additional resources.

The fire was eventually brought under control, and all primary and secondary searches were completed.

No injuries were reported, but tragically one dog did not survive.

A total of fifteen individuals were displaced, compromising six adults and nine children.
