HURON, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Police officers won't be the only ones in uniform that are going to be patrolling Huron from now on - Fresno County deputies say they are stepping up to help.
The city of Huron requested help due to a lack of resources to serve its residents.
“As a small city with a small budget, Huron is always losing officers to cities that have more resources," Huron City Manager Virginia Peñaloza said. "This formal agreement secures officers within city limits to prevent any delays in calls for service."
The agreement took effect on Thursday and will remain in place until the city can hire and train incoming officers.
Anyone in Huron who needs the assistance of law enforcement can either call sheriff’s dispatchers at 559-600-3111 or the existing Huron Police Department n
