For the first time in a decade, the Toronto Blue Jays are entering the playoffs as American League East Division champions, with a former Victoria HarbourCat player on the roster, not just along for the ride, but playing a vital role in achieving wins.

Former HarbourCats 2014 Player of the Year, Nathan Lukes first hit the field for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2023 on the opening day roster. Since then, he’s had a series of highs and lows due to injuries taking him out of parts of the season.

With his recent efforts in getting the Blue Jays to where they are now, it appears Lukes is making up for lost time.

Lukes only recently was called back to the Jay’s roster in June 2025 due to a bout of injuries mixed with paternity leaves and has since become a strong contributor to the team this summ
