CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - Several roads have reopened after a suspicious package was deemed safe after being found in Charleston on Thursday night.
Charleston Police posted on social media at 8:15 p.m. that they were investigating the reported package on Rutledge Avenue, prompting several road closures in the area.
Police reopened the roads at 8:56 p.m. after investigating.
Road closures included:
Rutledge Avenue between Cannon Street and Doughty Street
Radcliffe Street between Smith Street and Rutledge Avenue
Morris Street between Smith Street and Rutledge Avenue
Oliver Court
Bee Street between Rutledge Avenue and Ashley Avenue
Residents around the area were asked to stay inside until the scene was cleared.
