Stock Market Today: Indian benchmark indices closed higher on Friday for the second straight session, buoyed by positive sentiment following the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) policy decision.

At the close, the BSE Sensex stood at 81,207.17, up 223.86 points or 0.28%, while the NSE Nifty50 ended at 24,894.25, up 57.95 points or 0.23%.

On the BSE, Tata Steel, Power Grid, Kotak Mahindra Bank, and Axis Bank were among the top gainers, while Tech Mahindra, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Finserv, and UltraTech Cement weighed on the indices.

Sector-wise, Nifty Metal, PSU Bank, and Consumer Durables led the gains, rising over 1% each. In contrast, Realty slipped 0.12% and Nifty Healthcare declined 0.22%.
