VESTAVIA HILLS, Ala. —

Vestavia Hills celebrated its 75th anniversary with a party featuring games, bounce houses, and birthday cake, and Mayor Ashley Curry discussed plans for a $1.2 million beautification project along Highway 31.

Curry emphasized the importance of beautifying the southern gateway as he enters his next term, focusing on infrastructure improvements along Highway 31. The project will fund a 15-foot tall, 130-foot wide "Vestavia Hills" sign at the city's southern entrance, along with landscaping in the median, on both sides of the highway, and in front of the Chevron across the street. It will also address drainage improvements in the area.
