When a homeless individual spotted Midge roaming the streets, they gently picked her up and brought her to Desert Hot Springs Animal Care in North Palm Springs, California.

The shelter staff welcomed her with kindness and began piecing together her past.

It turned out Midge had once belonged to a family. Reports indicated she had leapt from a car window during a stop at a gas station and became lost.

The shelter quickly reached out to her owners to let them know she was safe, hoping for a joyful reunion. They did show up, but not in the way anyone had hoped.
