GLOBE,AZ (AZFamily) — Residents packed a public meeting Thursday night in Globe and Miami, voicing frustrations and concerns over the response to last week’s deadly flash floods.
The first round of flooding tore through the communities one week ago. While Gila County officials told the crowd they are doing everything they can, many residents said it is not enough.
State officials joined Gila County’s emergency management team to walk through a timeline of the county’s response and highlight resources. Officials said some include the Red Cross and the Salvation Army and community groups are on the ground helping. A disaster assistance center is also now open at the Gila County Fairgrounds.
