A man has died, and a teenager is in a critical condition following a helicopter crash in Sydney’s south-west on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Birch Street, Bankstown, after reports of a helicopter crash at about 1.30pm on Friday.
The man was treated by paramedics but was unable to be revived, and died at the scene. The 19-year-old man was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.
Police have established a crime scene, and an investigation into the cause of the crash will be conducted by the Australian Transport Safety Bureau.
Both people were on board as the helicopter went down. The man who died is yet to be formally identified.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
