PASCO, Wash. – Santiago Ayala Pineda was sentenced to 34.3 years in prison for his armed assault on two Pasco police officers, the Franklin County Prosecutor's Office said in a release.
The sentencing took place in Franklin County Superior Court, where Judge Noma Rodriguez handed down the sentence on October 2.
Pineda was involved in a traffic stop incident on July 30, 2020, near Road 68 and the onramp to I-182.
At the time of the traffic stop, Pineda had a warrant for armed assault out of Benton County.
Law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals, were working to locate him.
On September 12, 2025, a jury found Pineda guilty on all counts.
