Hanoi: Typhoon Bualoi has wreaked havoc in northern and central Vietnam, resulting in 51 confirmed deaths, 14 people reported missing, and 164 others injured. The storm made landfall on Monday, bringing strong winds, heavy rainfall, and dangerous sea swells.

The disaster has caused extensive damage to housing and agriculture. Over 230,000 homes were damaged or flooded, and nearly 89,000 hectares of rice and other crops were destroyed. The total property damage has been estimated at 15.9 trillion dong (approximately $603 million), an increase from earlier estimates of $435.8 million. Roads, schools, and government offices were also severely affected, and tens of thousands of households experienced power outages.
