A MAN's bid for release on bail has been rejected by a court after he was charged with stabbing another man inside a Tamworth unit.
Andrew James Daley was arrested at the Woodward Avenue unit in South Tamworth on Thursday afternoon by Oxley police.
He's now behind bars after fronting a Sydney bail court on Friday, October 3, on one charge connected to the stabbing.
Daley lodged a bid for release, but after hearing submissions from the police prosecution and the defence, Magistrate Miranda Moody refused the bail application.
She ordered Daley into the custody of Corrective Services, where he will remain until the case returns to Tamworth Local Court later this month.
Daley is facing one count of reckless wounding, and was not required to enter a plea during the bail hearing.
