What started as a cheeky on-field cricketing taunt has now transformed into a full-blown Garba move, the ‘Plane Down’ gesture is taking over Navratri 2024.

Originally made popular by Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf, the “Plane Down” move — a sharp, downward-slicing hand gesture mimicking a descending aircraft — was used as a wicket celebration, symbolically "grounding" the opposition.

Many interpreted it as a not-so-subtle dig at India during high-tension matches.

But cricket fans didn’t forget, in a perfect twist of sporting drama, India’s Jasprit Bumrah returned the favour, mimicking the gesture after dismissing key Pakistani batsmen.
