Melbourne coach Steven King and vice-captain Jack Viney formed part of a Demons contingent touring Waverley Park on Friday as the club explores options around its home base.

As Hawthorn prepares to complete its move out of Waverley Park for Dingley later this month, the Demons and Richmond have both held talks with the AFL over the use of the facility.

The AFL finalised the purchase of the administration and training base from the Hawks in June, worth an estimated $15-20million.

The Demons are committed to a future at Caulfield Racecourse, however it remains years away from progressing.

When contacted by 7NEWS, the Demons said Friday’s tour — which also included incoming president Steven Smith — was part of the design process for Caulfield.
