KL Rahul ended a nine-year wait for a home Test century as the opener reached three figures on Day 2 of the first Test between India and the West Indies in Ahmedabad. Rahul brought up his hundred off 190 deliveries in the first session on Friday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

The 32-year-old unveiled a new celebratory gesture after ending a 3,211-day drought for a hundred in home conditions in red-ball cricket. He removed his helmet, raised his bat towards the dressing room to acknowledge the applause, and then put two fingers in his mouth, seemingly sending a message to his newborn daughter, Evaarah.
