FREMONT — With the Michigan High School Athletic Association regional round days away, the Ludington girls varsity golf team was back in action on Tuesday.

The Orioles made the trip to the Waters Edge Golf Course in Fremont for the Fremont Invitational and finished in a tie for third place with the Packers with a team score of 424.

Forest Hills Eastern was the big winner, taking first place with a team score of 355, Whitehall was second, finishing with a team score of 363.

Sophomore Madelyn Erndteman was Ludington’s best finisher. She shot a 98 during the 18-hole event and took home ninth place.

Orioles sophomore Rosie Hurd shot a 100, securing 10th place.

Junior Ella Micka and junior Annabell Babe finished tied for 18th, each shooting a 113 respectively.
