NORTH MUSKEGON — Looking to turn the tides on its conference season, the Mason County Central varsity volleyball team headed south on Tuesday to face North Muskegon in a West Michigan Conference-Rivers Division clash.
The Spartans, hampered by injuries, battled valiantly but ended up falling to the Norse, 3-0 (10-25, 15-25, 15-25).
“We’ve had a lot of adjustments this season with players being out, and I feel like we just haven’t hit our stride yet,” MCC head coach Erin O’Harra said. “I’m excited to see how we grow and come together over the next few weeks as we prepare for the conference tournament and districts.”
Because of the injuries the Spartans have sustained, coach O’Harra moved freshman Avery Miller onto the varsity team as a libero.
Coach O’Harra was proud of her performance.
