There are a number of expectations put on the shoulders of every wedding guest: You are to show up in the dress code , bring an expensive present from the registry, drive (or potentially fly) to a sometimes remote romantic destination, and follow along with the bride’s or groom’s every idea and whim. You grin and bear it because it’s a day that’s ultimately about celebrating a love between people — or at least one person — you care about. Plus, there’s usually enough food, drinks, and friends to make it all worth it .
