A man shot in east Birmingham Sunday night has died.

Birmingham police identified the victim as Quandarus Boston. He was 21.

The shooting happened just after 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 7600 block of Second Avenue North.

East Precinct officers were dispatched to the location and arrived to find Boston unresponsive in the parking lot.

He was taken by Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service transported to UAB Hospital, where he died Thursday.

Officer De’Rell Freeman said the preliminary investigation indicates Boston approached a vehicle when an unknown suspect fired multiple shots.

No arrests have been made.

Boston is Birmingham’s 62nd homicide this year. One of those victims was shot in 2024 but died in 2025.
