NFL fans are adamant that the Los Angeles Rams were denied victory by a refereeing decision during their loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

The 49ers claimed a 26-23 victory in Los Angeles during overtime with a 41-yard field goal from Eddy Pineiro.

However, fans have spoken out against a call made by the referees late in the third quarter.

Niners running back Isaac Guerendo returned a kickoff but was met by a meaty hit from linebacker Shaun Dolac.

The ball was knocked loose, and the Rams recovered the ball.

However, the whistle had prematurely been blown, and the fumble was not counted.

This allowed San Francisco to retain the ball.

The referees said that Guerendo had stopped forward progress and therefore ruled the play dead.
