An armored Wolverine isn't a common sight in the Marvel universe, but Logan finds himself forced to follow in Iron Man's footsteps thanks to Apocalypse. While both anti-heroes are virtually immortal, Wolverine and Deadpool lose their free will to the Legacy virus in 2025's Deadpool / Wolverine . Wolverine, in particular, gets a rawer deal.

Posing as Stryfe, Apocalypse commands his brainwashed X-Cutioners, Wolverine and Deadpool. Logan and Wade Wilson manage to shake off their Legacy brainwashing. Yet, Wolverine goes through a visibly painful transformation that results in a Hulk-like monster.
