PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (WSAZ) - Yesterday kicked off white water season on the Russell Fork River, and adventure tourism speakers are heading to Pike County to take advantage of the rush.
Officials at the Breaks Interstate Park say they have received questions about the government shut down, and they want visitors to understand it does not impact the park’s operations.
Since the park operates by Kentucky and Virginia state regulations.
The park is still taking full advantage of autumn in Appalachia, and invites anyone whose plans were impacted by the shutdown to visit the park as an alternative.
You can see some of the park’s attractions over on their website and social media pages .
