Hand counting ballots this municipal election has Edmonton Elections warning that full results of the Monday, Oct. 20, vote may not be clear until the following day or later.
Edmonton Elections is the nonpartisan entity responsible for independently and impartially administering Edmonton’s municipal and school board trustee elections.
Acting director of elections Bradley Wells and returning officer Aileen Giesbrecht on Thursday explained how election night is expected to play out.
“As always we will release results by race, by voting station as soon as they become available,” said Wells. “While some preliminary results will be available on election night, we currently anticipate that the preliminary count will not be counted until Oct. 21.”
