A well-known restaurant owner in Tunbridge Wells has won his planning wrangle over the position of his outdoor tables and chairs on The Pantiles . Matthew Sankey said he was "delighted that our long-running battle to secure the continued use of the outside seating space at The Old Fishmarket has come to a positive conclusion".

KentLive has been reporting on the dining dispute since February , which saw Mr Sankey sending Tunbridge Wells Borough Council a slew of photos of the al fresco furniture at the Champagne and seafood bar. His company Brittany Inns Ltd had sought a retrospective change of use for the strip of land used for the extra seating, and retention of a canopy over the allowed seating area and the strip.
