The Met Office has issued a new yellow weather warning for wind which covers all of Kent as Storm Amy nears. Officially the first named storm of the 2025/26 season, Storm Amy is developing over the Atlantic and is expected to bring disruptively strong gales and heavy rain to much of the nation over the weekend.

Ahead of the adverse weather, the 19-hour yellow wind warning has been issued for the majority of England, including the entirety of Kent, which will come into effect from midnight tonight (October 3). It will then remain in place until 7pm on Saturday (October 4), with considerable disruption expected throughout this time.
