A yellow weather warning for wind covering the whole county has been issued.

Storm Amy is expected to hit the north of the UK this evening, before travelling south.

The Met Office’s alert for strong and gusty winds comes into force at midnight tonight and lasts until 7pm tomorrow.

Winds are expected to reach 45 to 55mph in places, and up to 60 to 65mph along some exposed coasts.

The Met Office has further warned that journeys on the road and rail may take longer, some coastal communities could be affected by spray or large waves, and a short-term loss of power and other services is possible.
