The Edmonton Oilers have signed Head Coach Kris Knoblauch to a three-year contract extension through the 2028-29 season.
Knoblauch is entering his third year as head coach with the franchise, entering into the role in mid-November 2023. Since then, he has led Edmonton to back-to-back Stanley Cup Finals appearances but was unable to finish either of them in the way fans hoped.
Over the span of the 151 games he has coached, he has a record of 94-47-10, the second most wins in the league over that time frame.
In January 2024, Knoblauch became the first head coach to record two winning streaks of 8+ games before the 25-game mark of their coaching career. During this time, the Oilers had a 16-game win streak, tying the 2016-17 Columbus Blue Jackets for the second longest win streak in NHL hi
