Bantwal, Oct 3: In a remarkable display of talent and determination, Yashaswi, a young chess prodigy from Kudumanu in Kedila village, Bantwal taluk, has clinched three medals at the Asian Deaf Chess Championship held recently in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, making her hometown and the nation proud.
The daughter of Timmapppa Moolya and Yashodha, Yashaswi struck gold as part of the Indian contingent in the Asian Deaf Rapid Team Chess Championship. She followed it up with two silver medals, finishing runner-up in the fiercely contested Blitz and Classical Individual Chess categories.
